Special Needs, Special Stories – A Space for Voices Too Often Silenced
Systemic oppression does not affect only one group—it extends to those whose disabilities make them vulnerable to unjust targeting, exclusion, and neglect. ADA-qualified individuals are disproportionately policed, denied access, and silenced when seeking accommodations, autonomy, and dignity. Too often, their stories go unheard, their struggles dismissed, and their rights ignored.
We recognize that the fight for accessibility is not just about ramps and paperwork—it is about the right to exist without harassment, to be understood without judgment, and to be included without a fight. Whether you have experienced discrimination, denial of accommodations, police profiling, or systemic barriers that have stripped you of your independence, your story matters.
Our Neurodi-Voice gathering provides a space to share lived experiences—through spoken word, storytelling, poetry, visual art and personal testimony. This is a place where deep listening replaces dismissal, where presence replaces policy red tape, and where voices that are often silenced are given center stage. We invite those who have been marginalized due to disability to bring their truth, their creativity, and their resilience to a space where they will be heard and honored.
